INSTALLING THE GAME on MACOS

Sometimes macOS blocks the app from running because it doesn’t have the right permissions. If you want to open the macOS build you need to follow these steps to fix it:

1) Unzip the folder and ensure that the bundle is .app.

2) Adjust file permissions:

• To do this you have to open the Terminal: Press Command + Space to open Spotlight, type "Terminal," and press Enter.
• Navigate to the App location. In Terminal, type the following command:

  cd /path/to/your/app

• You need to actually replace /path/to/your/app with the actual location of your .app file. For example, if it is the downloads, type:

  cd ~/Downloads

  To do this step I might recommend you to put the .app file in the downloads so you can just type this.

• Set permissions. Now type the following command:

  chmod -R 755 "A Day With_MacOS_0.8.4.app"

3) Bypass macOS Gatekeeper (first scenario):

At this point you can try to open the build. MacOS has security features (like Gatekeeper) that may block apps from unidentified developers. You should allow the Gatekeeper to open the file.

Right-Click and Open:

• Locate your .app file in Finder.
• Right-click (or Control-click) the file and select Open.
• A warning message will appear. Click Open again to bypass Gatekeeper and run the app.

If it doesn't work, you'll have to bypass it in the following step.

4) Bypass macOS Gatekeeper with System preferences (second scenario):

• Open System Preferences:
  • Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen.
  • Select System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
• Go to the General tab.
• You should see a message at the bottom saying the app was blocked. Click Open Anyway.

5) Temporarily Disable Gatekeeper with Terminal (third scenario - advanced): If the above steps still don’t work, you can temporarily disable Gatekeeper:

• Open Terminal and type:

  sudo spctl --master-disable

• Enter your Mac password when prompted.
• Run the app:

  open "A Day With_MacOS_0.8.4.app"

• To re-enable Gatekeeper after testing, type:

  sudo spctl --master-enable
